How long have you been a stylist/baker?
Tamara B: I have been a stylist for 25 years and I have been baking for about 5 years.
Where do you see yourself going Intensity HS and BabyKakez ?
Tamara B: My vision for Intensity HS is to open up several new locations and widen my market. I also would like to incorporate a spa to my newer locations. My vision for BabyKakez moving forward wants to be know worldwide. Surprisingly,I don’t want a store front though, I just want to travel with it and have food trucks for my homemade deserts.
What/Who is your inspiration?
Tamara B: The Lord is my inspiration. He is the reason I’ve been able to accomplish and succeed at anything I’ve put my hands to. He literally leads me and tells me what and what not to do. I’m serious though. I just listen and do.
Who is your role model?
Tamara B: My grandma, she was such a strong woman.
What inspired you to get your businesses started?
Tamara B: Out of nowhere I found a new love for baking, I was baking for fun and my friends, clients and family really loved my cakes. I started getting orders because of word of mouth and here we are. In elementary school, I wanted to be a cosmetologist. I went to college about a year and half to become a computer programmer and could not catch on. One random morning I woke up and told myself I needed to do what I was supposed to. So I signed up for beauty school. At the time I was working as manager at pizza hut, so I used that money to put me through school and I have been doing hair ever since.
