Doc Taylor’s Restaurant

Happy Foody Friday, Pioneers!

Doc Taylor's Resaturant

About two weeks ago, I went on a trip to Virginia Beach with my dad and boyfriend. We stayed in a hotel on the board walk so there was all types of food around us. When we arrived, we parked and walked past several different beach houses. There was one specifically that caught my eye. I remember seeing people standing in front of the house and saying to my boyfriend Brandon, “This house is adorable. I wonder what it’s like to live on the beach.” We continued to the hotel to check in and do some exploring.

Breakfast:

The next morning, Brandon looked up some local restaurants for breakfast and came across the menu for a place called Doc Taylor’s Restaurant. From sweet potato pecan pancakes to corned beef hash and eggs benedict, this place had everything I could ever want for breakfast. The restaurant was abt a 2 minute walk from our hotel, so I was all for it. We start to head to Doc Taylor’s and when we get there, I remembered that it was the same house that stood out to me the day before. The little home that I thought was a beach house was actually a restaurant.

Welcome to Doc Taylor’s Restaurant!!!!

When we entered the restaurant, the first thing that stuck out to me was the atmosphere. There were people everywhere! The hostess was standing near the foot of the steps and greeted us with high spirits and a smile on her face. We walked through the dining room area as we passed the huge kitchen that allowed us to see the cooks as they prepared our food.  There were pieces of furniture and items that make up a home hung up on different walls and ceilings. There was a headboard hung up on the wall above the kitchen, frying pans on the walls, china plates and a few cooking utensils. It was pretty cool.

For breakfast, I ordered a $2 bottomless mimosa and blueberry pancakes with cheese eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast.  One thing I like most about Doc Taylor’s are the prices. They give you a good amount of food for an inexpensive price. It’s perfect! I spent about $12 on my meal and that’s including the mimosa. Great, RIGHT?! The food looked and smelled so delicious, I forgot to snap a picture of its greatness.

Doc Taylor’s is an overall great restaurant. The food is tasty, the people are welcoming and the prices were well within my price range. Whenever you make your way to Virginia Beach, give Doc Taylor’s a try. You’ll enjoy it.

Until we meet again, continue to sparkle!
