At the end of the Spring season, I make a list of things I want to do during the summer. This summer, my list consists of different places I want to see and different things I want to try. I had never attended a Wine & Design event before and figured this would be the perfect chance for me to do so with a couple of my friends. If any of you are unfamiliar with Wine & Design, it’s a paint and sip franchise. You sip wine and paint.
After signing up for a spot in the class, I was a bit hesitant to go. I’m not an artist by any means nor am I the best painter in the world, but I figured I’d still give it a chance because I had heard great things about it. I love the fact that their website allows you to pick the date you want based on the painting chosen for that date. We decided on a palm tree sunset painting. I kept thinking, how in the world am I going to get my painting to look like the one I had seen online?
Welcome to Wine and Design
When I arrived, I was surprised to find that the canvas had a premade template on them. All we simply had to do was follow directions and fill in our canvas with paint. The instructor started the class with a brief introduction and we jumped right in. By this time, I was already on my second glass of wine, so I was feeling a little too good.
The class started at 7pm and ended a little after 9. The instructor was very helpful. Occasionally, he would stop the class and walk around to help anyone in need. He was very hands on.
The night was filled with lots of laughs and smiling faces. I’m not too proud of my painting, there are a few things I wish I could change on it, but the experience and memories I gained that night are whats most important to me.
I would definitely sign up for another Wine & Design event. It’s $35 a person, but it is worth it in my opinion. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine and get ready to paint the night away.
Have you guys made a summer 2018 to do list? What’s on your list?
