    Respected Roots: Hair Moisturizer Review!

Today, I am going to be reviewing a product that I picked up while at the Atlanta Womens Expo. The brand is called Respected Roots and they specialize in natural products for beard, hair and skin care. You can check out their website here. This particular product is their hair moisturizer and it was created to promote healthy moisturized hair for men and women. So without further adue, lets get into it! Price: $ So, the price of the moisturizer was $10.00 for 4 fl oz. I typically pay around this price for my hair products, so this wasn’t too bad for me. However, I did feel that it could…

6 Months to Healthy Hair Challenge!

Healthy hair is something we all want to have. Since about July of last year, I have been a jerk to my hair. I cut it, dyed it and fried it. Literally. My hair was about mid back length in the beginning of summer 2017. I wasn’t taking care of my hair at all. I straightened my hair multiple times to find the perfect style for my wedding day and did damage when I straightened it for my brother’s wedding. Since I am ready to take charge and regain a healthy head of hair, I will be on a healthy hair challenge for the next 6 months. Here are the…

    Healthy Poppin’ Nails

Ever since high school I’ve been lowkey obsessed with nails. My twin sister’s nails have been my inspiration for years. Her nails are strong, long, and healthy. I’ve damaged and healed my nails multiple times. The damage I’ve encountered was from not properly taking off acrylic nails and getting acrylic nails in general. Getting nails back healthy isn’t a quick process and you have to make sure you take care of them after they’re back poppin’. I have some tips, from over the years, that help me get my nails back together and some tips for keeping them poppin’. Tips for poppin’ Nails It takes my nails about a full…

    DIY: Lip Scrub

Happy Sunday, QT Pi’s! Today, I am going to be sharing a super easy DIY lip scrub that I found on Pinterest! I’m pretty much obsessed with Pinterest. It is my go to especially when I have questions about things pertaining to beauty. It’s just an overall great platform to spread ideas and try new things. I’m not sure if it’s because of the constant change in the weather, but lately, my lips have been super dry and cracked. I’m constantly putting on lip gloss, hoping it will help, but that hasn’t been doing much.  I decided to take things into my own hands and make something homemade that would cut costs and help bring my lips back to…

    Wild Growth Hair Oil

Being on a healthy natural hair journey can sometimes be tough. There are a number of products that claim hair growth. I’ve tried a number of different hair vitamins, oils, treatments, you name it. You just have to figure out what works for you. I’ll be honest with you, I don’t take care of my hair like I should. I don’t wear scarves at night, I use body towels to dry it and I was a shampooer, literally every time I washed my hair, I would shampoo it. Talk about dry scalp. My mother gave me a bottle of this wild growth hair oil. I knew what it was because of ads…

    Favorite Natural Products

From the day I went natural 5 years ago I have been introduced to so many different natural products which led me to a more holistic lifestyle. So this post is going to be about my top favorite natural products and what I use them for. Shea Butter Shea butter has now become a natural household favorite. Its thick consistency can be used as is for a great facial moisturizer or whipped up as i delicacy for dry skin. I use Shea better for several different purposes. I use it to prep my lips before putting lipstick on and it keeps even the driest lipsticks from making your lips…

    Healthy Hair, Happy You

I have been natural, meaning without a relaxer, for all of my life. However, I have acquired quite a bit of damage from things like dying and straightening my hair more than a normal person should. Box hair dye is no joke and it definitely doesn’t help when you flat iron your hair at 450 degrees. I didn’t start wearing my hair in its natural state until the summer before I started college. I was never comfortable wearing it curly in public so, even if I wore it curly, I would always straighten it before the week started. Washing my hair and seeing no curls whatsoever hurt my soul. I…
